The main protester BAMCEF called for Bharat Bandh on 25th May 2022. They have issue with the non-implementation of reservations for SCs/STs/OBCs in the private sector.

All India Backward And Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMCEF) on Tuesday announced a ‘Bharat Bandh’ to be observed on May 25. The Bandh is called in protest against the centre for not conducting a caste-based census for the Other Backward Classes (OBC).
According to Neeraj Dhiman, the Saharanpur District President of the Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP), the federation is also protesting the non-implementation of reservations for the SCs/STs/OBCs in the private sector and the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) during elections, among other issues.
According to reports, the bandh has attracted support from Waman Meshram, the national convener of Bahujan Kranti Morcha, along with the National Parivartan Morcha, Bharat Mukti Morcha, Bahujan Kranti Morcha and its affiliated organisations.
Bharatiya Yuva Morcha national convener said the bandh has not been called by any political leader or party, but by students, unemployed youth, farmers, workers and women of the nation.
The Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP) also came forward in support of the Bandh. BMP’s state president DP Singh urged the people to make the movement a success. Notably, the supporters of the Bharat Bandh have been running a campaign on social media urging other people to take part in it by shutting down businesses and public transportation.LIVE
